Last week you should have read all about our next fundraiser for WCS - Springfest! New to our school? Wondering what Springfest is? In a nutshell - it's our annual fun day event fun day event - held April 2 at the Oxford Auditorium, right here in Woodstock. It begins with $5 Pancake Breakfast, served by our WCS Staff - and continues on from there. We will have a Coffee Corner run by our WCS Bus Drivers to hold you over until lunch is served at 11. You can choose Canadian, Dutch or Korean cuisine. Kids get to play in the Games area - full of fun things to do like bouncy castle, Plinko, petting zoo, obstacle course and more. The Marketplace will also be set up again with a variety of vendors from our community, plus the Spring Flowers table and Bake Table. Ending the day will be our Silent and Live Auctions! Watch for the Live Auction list - some amazing items! The day begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.
Things to watch for:
Bizarre Bottles how-to sheet: This was sent home last week - as well as by email today. This great opportunity for kids to get involved with Springfest is returning. Please read over the info carefully. Make a bottle that you know your own child would love to receive. There is a prize for BEST BIZARRE BOTTLE again this year.
Volunteer sign up sheet: WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! Without volunteers, this event can not run. We need over 150 people so please look it over and return it as soon as you can. You will see there is also a spot to help with bring items to and from the auditorium plus clean up. Many hands make light work and we'd really appreciate your help!
Bake Sale: on the back of the signup sheet is space for the Bake sale. Along with Van Straten baked goods, we sell items created by US! However, they can not be items that need refrigeration. So haul out your favourite recipes, ask those you know love to bake and get lost in the kitchen for a while creating wonderful treats!
Kitchen Items Needed: The Springfest Kitchen team is in need of donations to keep kitchen costs low this year. We are hoping that everyone could help purchase a few things for us. There is a board in the school foyer with specific requests. Please take a tag and purchase that item. There will be a labelled box in the kitchen for donations to be placed inside or beside. We hope to have all items brought in by Tuesday, March 29. Thanks so much for your help in this matter. If you have any questions please contact Sacha Branderhorst or a member of the kitchen team.
Petting Zoo: Do you have a lovable pet or animal others would like to meet/pet? The Games Committee is looking for pet 'donations' ( you will get them back). If anyone has a pet to lend for the day, please contact Melanie Huinink firstname.lastname@example.org or 519-532-0878.
Silent Auction: We are in need of someone to be in charge of the silent auction. This would require you to assist with the set up of it Friday evening/Saturday morning, keep an eye on it throughout the day, and assist buyers at the end of the auction - collecting monies and being sure they take home the correct items. We already have someone to be our cashier. This can be done with another person so grab your best friend and help us out. We are so thankful for such a generous and loving community that supports WCS. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Pauline Markus or Heather De Boer
THANK YOU so much in advance to everyone who has volunteered or donated so far. We appreciate the generous and loving community surrounding WCS.
